This project was a very exciting and interesting experience!

At the beginning, my knowledge about Cambodia was:

Cambodia is a country in Asia and there are water buffalos.

It was great to get to know the country a little bit better and to find out something about how the daily live in Cambodia.

It was wonderful, how ambitious some Cambodian students were in this project.

A difference between Cambodian and german blogs are that the family is posted in every Cambodian blog, so family seems to be very important in Cambodia.

I would like to have more communications with other Cambodian students.

It was a great pity, that there was no communication with Skype because I would have been nice to have a closer contact with some Cambodian students.

I think the reason for this problem is the bad internet connection in Cambodia.

There are some things, I didn’t find out or I dare not ask.

I would like to find out more about how the students live and how there free time look like. Is there free time at all or do they work for the university the whole day? I would like to find out more about the daily life in Cambodia and the university, the traditions and the religion.

Kindertag/Children`s Day

On 7´th of  June, the Children`s  Day 2009 took place on the university campus in Flensburg.children`s day

23 students (including myself) arranged for the Children`s Day a program with dance show, music, pony rides etc.

The proceeds were directed to the children`s hospice  as charitable donation.

The Children`s Day attracted hordes of visitors.

We estimate the attendance to be around 1500 visitors.

water games

In summary, i can say: It was a successful and funny day for the children and the students!

My favourite media are books.

If you flip a book open,

you are in an other world.

I love to read.If a book is exciting,

africa books

i`m not able to put the book down, i have to read on,

even if it takes all night:-)

Here you can see a part of my bookcase.

I love books dealing with the subject africa.

My favourite book is the book called “Rote Sonne, Schwarzes Land”

(Red sun, black land) by Barbara Wood. It`s a book about

a white settler family who made their fortune and richness in Kenia

and an oldtribal family. It´s about the history and changes of Kenia and the forbidden love between two members

of the families.

It`s worth to read this book:-)

Another favourite media is the internet.

The internet makes this communication between

german and Cambodian students possible.

I like Skype because it`s the chance to call somebody for free by internet

You can communicate with somebody by video telephone as well and see each other,

although the other person is in an other country.

Hello! Welcome to my blog :-)
